Dear Dancer/Dance Supporter -- (Please excuse us if you've received a duplicate on this email)
South Street
Seaport "Show & Tell" Tango Nuevo is on this Sunday, beginning at
7:30pm.
FREE and Open to all.The opportunity to be listed in our
"Meet the Press" deadline for June- July is coming up this
Monday.
Instructors, performers and producers are encouraged to send a one page portfolio description to Iservice@Tipsonly.com.
We need to show that there is in fact an existing quality among us that is distinct specifically to tango dancers. This is an opportunity to associate and find a place toe-to-toe with and alongside dance producers and companies already spotlighted by the national media.
We may not have this opportunity for another decade or more, why go back to Argentina when we can bring Argentina right here in New York City.
www.newyorktango.org/taa/SouthStreetSeaportUpdates.html
Almost a decade ago, I've set out to produce art and dance as the unique combination portrayed through "Form and Expression". Dance Tango has given me that opportunity. Potentially millions of people are willing to learn and understand what seams to be so captivating about Dance Tango. Let's share the illusion - it is not pathetic, (The Dance) it is in fact a whole lot more than simply the embrace.
SSS-Sunday
Welcome
DJ Frank this Sunday, water end South Street Seaport pier 17 - behind the
express superstore. Also we have extended a special request for pre-recorded
music from your best DJS from Argentina to Uruguay and down-under to right there
in Boston and the response has been great!
I continue to encourage all Tangueros to come to South Street Seaport and dance each Sunday this summer rain or shine. It does not matter whether you've been made to believe an error in some reports - remember your main interest is to dance, be romantic if you can, but simply have a good time. It is up to you not to allow any one individual-gang, group or person to negatively influence your freedom of choice.
I certainly won't, I
rather encourage choice.
By doing so you certainly stand to gain - how?
Let me share a little story: I once lived in a small Hasidic community in
Brooklyn (Borough Park). On 13th Ave and 50th street corner there were situated
2-beggars. Each person sit daily a few feet away from each other, one was
Jewish-Hasidic and the other was dressed regularly. Everyone giving seemed to be
giving only to the Hasidic Jew and none offered to the regular guy. I ask the
homeless man one day, (The regular guy). Why don't you go into the protestant or
catholic community? His response was! We're both Hasidic Jews.
Somehow, certain individuals are thinking that it makes good sense to persuade you to believe that perhaps dancing in one location above another makes you different from other dancers.
To compete is the general feeling you're actually being forced upon you. Is that what you want? ok! So, Say it - by your actions. Dance! Here, Dance! There, Dance! Everywhere.
