This Milonga Tour has been in the planning stage for sometime and boy it's no easy task working through what would be the best Weekly Milongas throughout the USA. NewsLetter confirm a number of Great Milongas to Visit throughout the United States (Including Hawaii) and the best method possible for saving time and money on a trip that would cover 112 weekly Milongas. MF) I did not think it could be that difficult. After I first thought of the Idea, I simply began by collecting reports about various milongas in many cities. But soon after collecting all the data (which took more time than expected) I realized that, my gosh! It is no easy job doing milonga verifications and only to pick out which ones (Milongas) that are the best and most reputable. Eventually after about a month of research and some-like 3-weeks of interviews, I've come up with what's on paper to be the 112 best weekly milongas there is to offer in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. I will be posting and updating everyone through twitter and NYTB's myspace.com handle "nytangobar". I feel like part of the trip is already accomplished by these results and after reviewing so many milongas, festivals and special events in and out of production throughout the year, each and everyone I have found to have a special touch. However to view my travel listing first log on to Map! and get ready for a tour of 112 weekly milongas of the USA. |
NewsLetter has procured some meaningful details about this trip. We've decided to help by submitting this report and offering each of our readers to pay close attention to this ongoing milonga tour - you might want to get on the trail someday yourself? Q: Planning on going with anybody else? A: Yes! But I may occasionally rent a car and hire a driver in some states. Q: Will you need a radar detector? A: Yes, I will. I plan on getting it sponsored from a local Electronics store. After the tour I will return it to the store. Q: Will it be boring just to wait for another Milonga in another state? A: Not at all. I don't think there will be a dull moment at all., and especially if I like seeing the country. Q: Will you get enough rest? A: I don't expect very much. But by introducing the milonga dance card I believe this will help to control injuries and tiredness throughout my dancing. Q: Will you contact the Guinness Book of World Records? A: Perhaps! First of all, I am not planning this tour to become rich or famous. I definitely don’t want to be famous. The goal is first to tour the milongas and in an effort to encourage the people to dance the tango as a heart full of art, next is to motivate each individual and fellow milonguero to love the dance first before becoming an instructor or performer. That is my goal. Q: How much would this trip cost? |
A: The rental car total will be $965.33 (or $20.00 / milonga!) I will spend about $450.00 on gasoline. The hotels would probably total $1,400. The MRE’s (Meals, Ready To Eat, or “three lies for the price of oneâ€, as they say) would run me about $330.00. I would probably spend about $150.00 on other snacks, etc. Equipment (maps, batteries, etc.) about $50, I estimate The United Airlines ticket to Hawaii and back to be about $544.00 and the Alaska Airlines ticket to Ketchikan and back may be $466.00. The total is thus about $3,965.33. Q: Will you be taking a lot of pictures? A: Yes! I hope to take much pictures and record the tour online on a daily basis. I hope to capture the “Welcome to…†sign from each state. Q: Any repercussions from the tour expected? A: None, although I don’t think the dance card strategy will hold out considering there would always be more time and feelings to dance another set. Q: Has this ever been done or attempted before, to dance the milonga while visiting all US states? A: I have no idea. I Really cannot say. The purpose of my trip is not to set a record, but just to see if I could enjoy my vacation while dancing at the milongas across states on a reasonable budget. I am looking forward to commencement. The Following are the Main Metropolitan Cities I will be sure to visit: |

It seems like the story will never end because someone decided that it make sense to take a short-cut, when it comes to the parade of attention apparent at the South Street Seaport. This anticipation the "Attention Parade" seems to subside a bit once the summer has passed on. NewsLetter has an ultimatum which needs to be unveiled and that is mostly directed to those who endeavor to substantiate to themselves the false privileges which seems beneficial to one "Self" only. STOP! LOOK! & LISTEN. Much of the fighting and fussing about who should be blame, what is the true cause and why should X-Mr. or Mrs.. WatchAmaCallIt should be handling the business of FREE (or not) outdoor dancing to the public. Enough is enough! MF) It stunned my sure-reality that during the best of another beautiful time, anticipating a summer in the greatest city on earth, there is still a few (summers Grinch's) who decides on., How best to make or bolster their attention parade. How so, it might even be necessary to recall a notion which seems at one time so hot and saucy that it deserved another round of false campaigning. "you can fool all the people some of the time but you cannot fool all the people all of the times". So is Mr. Tanaka quotes that's constantly more and more common to your ear and that of an indigestive feeling. |
Such moderate but deceitful approach to cause reflection on the (2008) mud-slinging campaigning which he cautiously deliberates on his myspace or facebk or watchAmacallit pages. |
What I do Know is? I have that "Right" to produce an event that I believe is good if not Greater than any other. The spilt of degenerated more so extravagant corralling on a measly floor fee was not enough to bring about some SENSE of UNITY, but instead it was used to propel, a campaign of the most un-intelligent mud-sliding massacre targeted at...YOU. The heart of any of these events is first presented with you in mind. I am 100% dedicated to this noble concept. At the end of the Day it's not about my "Right" even though it cost enough event insurance dollars to cover the entire summer (2008) among other expenses. Now for the summers of 2010 and beyond? It's even more difficult for you the people to decide whether it makes real good sense to anticipate Summers Tango Dancing at the Seaport's Piers 16 & 17. But it is still up to you. Only this time your fun will not be interrupted by self-say and or hear-say nonsense. There are producers and there are promoters each one cannot do without the other. It was never our intention to produce a New Tango event without fully incorporating all the beauty of what we've come to expect from "YOU' the people who love dancing at the Seaport and any outdoor event soon to come on the horizon. As for the promoters, some of the promoters, well not all of them? Maybe One of them! Perhaps can say come this summer at the Seaport 2010 and hopefully beyond, there can be notice a genuine originality amongst all of us. |

Paul Pellicorro's DanceSport is at the Top of It's Game Since moving to 34th Street, between avenues 5th & 6th/Broadway alongside NYC ESB. The New Dance Studio Location is set somewhat in the middle of the block on 34th street and if it won't for Paul's all too modest yet conspicuous DanceSport Logo, except you'd known who it was you'd walk right on bye. When thinking of Paul Pellicoro's Sport filled of dance it is not playful games. In Fact its not a time for games anymore! Paul has stretch the mile long enough to know when to call it quits, what to do when there seems to be noticeable competition right upon his heals, in some case right inside his own studio. Make no mistakes, DanceSport had had it's share of luminary re-shuffling. So much that presently it seems to have begun a series of spiraling effects. Backfire! Is what this it is called in those times of colonial warfare, when it happens that your own gun if loaded too quickly the balance of gun powder backs up and when you think you're loading an empty gun...well., that tells the story. Next time you'll want to double check, clean your whistle well before you re-loading, aim and pulling the trigger. Point in question, when NewsLetter reviewed some of the people having had enough relationship with Paul Pellicoro's DanceSport, our team would rather reserve some comments on the relatively normal conditions of "Professional Courtesy". MF) It's hard to say whether DanceSport is going down or not. The fact is everyone appears to be having some problems of some sort. |
I think Paul is no exception. What Paul needs to do is remain focus and stick to what he does best, dance, teach, share and help as many people as he can. Besides, if you're a man in the arts and there comes a time when you cannot decide whether to go on or whether it makes sense to concoct something new in order to achieve monetary gain or pleasure related to pure game, it make sense to keep your stride even though it feels like you've already begun loosing your footing. The good horse never goes down cheek first. Who is this Tanaka guy by the way? What is he Asian, Korean, Hebrew? Afghanistan, Egyptian? Cause he certainly don't look Italian. Paul as far as I know is one of the founding lovers of Tango Dance Clubs and Milongas in New York City. For almost a decade Paul has Produce some of the best dancers, instructors, models in the business of dance and of course the Sunday Night Milonga, which many of us have begotten the use to look forward to as a means of help for our tango week ahead. In some case his Sunday Night Milonga would have influence a gateway of tango milonga impulse which is necessary to stimulate most tangueros y tangueras (you and I) on whether, where if then to go out to the milongas almost each night of the week. |
It appears like it is all in the business of generating new business, new clientele. |

George Ciao, is indeed the man behind the scene at the now zestfully upgraded Stepping Out Ballroom and Latin Dance Studios. The story of Stepping Out Dance Studio is no short one and though our research brought us un-ending theories, methodologies, concepts and conditionality's some border-lining on questionable professional courtesy towards especially its past and some present associates, instructors, individuals who's names are like numbers on pieces of paper in a basket, needed only when randomly shuffled and picked for anything from their new promotional dance catalogue to this weeks special dance lessons or group discounts. All in all, NewsLetter is less conclusive in the farming of details pertaining to the ins and outs pertaining to Stepping Out Dance Studio during it's yester-years. |
So in the meantime it is all live-in-la-vida at Stepping Out Dance Studio, or so is the random occasion which possesses the minds of most of the luminaries, season instructors and random associates of what is unquestionably the best Dance Studio, Most Economical and above all a place that promises unencumbered fun. MF) I am certain that some experience I've had at Stepping Out Dance Studio is everything but the charming sophisticated studio it appears as to so many people. I have seen some of the worse dance (Call themselves) instructors pivot themselves and launch careers to span city, town, villages and country nationwide all because some innocent manager recruited them at Stepping Out and Crowned them with a temporary position as a dance instructor. No sooner they'd expand themselves into what would be "Self Proclaimed" professional dance instructor. Even though as they travel to and fro and exhibit their questionable authority in dancing styles and instructional techniques the emblem of Stepping Out Dance Studio seams to be the only logistically authentic reflection noticeably attached to their resume. Stepping Out Dance Studio is two steps behind it's own problem, which is...they're simply too busy and preoccupied with being satisfied about the common distance they've acquired particularly by helping to close down Empire Dance Studio a few years ago and that outdated consistency steadily maintained while being hot on the trails of (Little but hardly even known for importance) You Should Be Dancing. Again! Based on the primary forecast of dance studio rising trends and demands, at some point sooner than later it would do good for present management to simply BOW out! and escape without possibly being noticed. |
NewsLetter is not quick to deter the quality of especially the leading Hulk of a Dance Studio In New York City. However, our research do establish a few facts along the lines of inadequacies in the area of methods used by SODS corresponding instructors who at times represent themselves as independent instructors possessing a usefulness relative to superseding their roll as privilege SODS instructors. Something we see as being
melancholiest considering their remedies are border lining on the worst professional courtesy offered to the very same individuals who share the same classrooms and in some case co-instruct the same dance classes. Without a doubt, the professional courtesy NewsLetter extracted at Stepping Out Dance Studio is the worse about all of Manhattan's Top Dance Schools and Studios. NewsLetter will continue to monitor and observe incoming reports about Stepping Out Dance Studio particularly for two reasons: 1) Mr. George Ciao is a unique and genuine Character in-person who only wishes that all his managing staff and employees (Instructors) will get along. And maybe if they do he himself may seek to polish up on some of his dancing moves too. 2) The Stepping Out Dance Studio known by most dancing NewYorkers and Particularly Manhatanites, is what NewsLetter believes to be the Prime and most Esteemed place to learn to dance in New York City with great PROMISE, that to be revealed long into the future. Or so we Hope! |

Some of the best leaders of the tango are found on the dance floors of the milongas of NYC. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
New York's Top 10 Tango Dance Followers The Top Ten Tango Followers were chosen base on Dance Floor Morale notice by their Patience, Prominence, Articulation and Style when taking the lead. Here are the new listings for New York's Top 10 Dance Followers; #10-Holding on to the 10th position is Andrea Katz. Andrea is a tall slender follower often eccentrically dressed. She possesses a charming personality appears to know less than she honestly represents to be knowledgeable of, but would rather dance than talk. If you catch her, consider yourself lucky because the best dancer would find that her corresponding moves in the followers position is constantly a rewarding experience. #09-Also holding on to 9th position is now the more popular Maria Jose Sosa. Very light and sometimes a little too flagrant, but the moves are assimilated by mostly her genuine anticipation toward comfort in her leaders embrace and attentiveness to floor navigation. Catch her if you can at La Nacional Thursday Milonga or take your chances by scheduling a lesson with her over at Stepping Out Dance Studio. #08-Holding on without a nudge at #8 is Mariela Franganilla a supreme matter-of-fact in the embrace. |
Phenomenal perhaps might be an understatement but you will have to be the decision maker in that regards. #07-The Beautiful Angeles Chanaha is our #7 firm. #06-Crashing down one step from the grievous#5 to#6 is Rebecca Shulman, perhaps having something to do with her now assumed roll as a new Mom and mother of all that is Domesticated. Best to her! #05-At Number#5 here falls the infamous Miwa Kanekoe, who captured everyone's eyes and hearts in part from her 2-per-said stints with the New Generation performances. More Like a crash than a drop mostly because only 1 out of ten of our scout leaders had a report about her dancing at the milongas. #04-Slipping one Step from#3 is Alicia Cruzado to #4 #03-Up from #4 fighting into a step up to #3 is our own Carina Moeller. #02-Holding on at #2 almost as a rule is Valeria Solomonoff. Truly deserving of her thrift. #01-And when you think the rain won't stop, with an unbelievable lump of a humping climb all the way from #6 is your own (The people said it) at #1 Yes! 1st place is "Karina Romero" shown by her consistency, efficiency and leniency to follow almost any great lead and live it while she fill every singly dance with a life of expression. Truly deserving of this claimed position. There you have it; New York City Top 10 Dance Followers. |

Is your Milonga facing the threat of extinction? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Is your Milonga facing the threat of extinction? Have you ever felt like you have been quarantined? For example after you have place so much effort in launching a new milonga, striving effortlessly to substantiate the needs of every patron and yet for some reason you are schedule to become redundant. It's as though you were not supposed to plan an event in the first place? How about those of you who work hard enough to achieve a seemingly substantial position, so much that you'd think that your milonga is turning out to be one of the best places to go out dancing every time your schedule comes around. Weekly milonga, by-weekly or monthly? How about an annual affair? Has it been really profitable? Is it truly worth it? The efforts constantly re-enforced by scheduling, emailing, phone calling, running up or down and all about? |
Spreading a good and tender smile when you are about to drop right there on the floor because you are tired, upset, stressed over the fact that after you have count it all up over all these years, you're still practically running an un profitable business with all the stress of a successful business. What, what you rather do when you've found this out? Try your hand at something else? Probably not because this is what you have come to do for the past...when was it? The earlier part of your life and Now WHAT? Guest you would say to yourself, darn-it, its that time again, yes and it's SHOW TIME. You simply won't stop! you couldn't? Well we have done some research and interviews and here's news for you "STOP" while you can. THERE IS NO PROFITABLE MILONGA. In a city where your own personal GDP must be running at a 10% increase every year and perhaps 10% every month as you find yourself growing older. Unless you have a nesting somewhere in a beautiful land far away by the sea on an island somewhere, you should wise-up about what are the truth of running a successful Milonga. |
TEN POINTS TO RUNNING A SUCCESSFULL MILONGA: #10-Be a Good Enough Basic Dance Instructor. #09-Be a good enough leader or follower. #08-Be at a location where you have at least 60% control of the milonga rotation overtime. #07-Don't pay for special dance performances (In time good dancers will flood you in order to perform). #06-Don't Pay for guess Maestros unless you have a Gigantic Dance Floor. (Ask them for a cd and give them the credit when you play their music that night). #05- Pay only for guess bands and musicians. #04- Keep your space always clean and Feminine Oriented (Nicely Scented). #03-Invite Goodly Well Mannered Milongueros Y Milonguetas. #02-Implement a strict code of ethics covering the Professional Courtesy of actors, guest and performers. #01-Keep the lights reasonably low but not too dark and smile always. After you have practice and implement all of those above measures, procure a club members list and proceed to make your profit outside and away from the milonga dance floor. |
